  • My Vision of My Community
I see an ideal community starting out as 3,4,5 people, who are ACIM students living together in a large commodious home. They are familiar with Sandy's work, are willing to use the Clearing process to move beyond ego conditioning, and consensus guidelines for group processes and decision making.

As other groups of 3,4,5 people do the same thing, we become a core group, working closely with Sandy as she continues doing her workshops and programs. We continue planning for the expansion into a full community. Our intention is to find and purchase a large, rural piece of land within 5 to 10 miles of Bellingham - say 40 acres, partly wooded - hopefully with a large, roomy house and outbuildings and with zoning which would allow for many more buildings to be built over time, from yurts and tiny one-room dwellings to duplexes and quadruplexes to a dormitory, i.e. accommodations for people who had no money to those who were financially able. We would want a new large building to accommodate offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, large dining room, etc.

I believe we could generate income by creating a Bed and Breakfast and/or a retreat center. We would have fruit and nut trees scattered around the premises, and grow a lot of our own food and could have a small store on the road to market some of our produce as well as any crafts, artwork, books, CDs, Course materials, etc.

Eventually I would like to see it expanded to include facilities for people to develop all the arts - visual as well as performing, a swimming pool and exercise/sport equipment, health and spa facilities where many different health practitioners could work together on those who come for wholistic health, a restaurant to serve healthy fare to the public. Modelling ourselves on successful communities such as Findhorn, Sirius, Auroville and others, and on Co-housing communities which have met the test of time, I believe we would be a model of living in partnership with Spirit for ACIM students and all who want to live productively and harmoniously with others. I believe I could live very happily in such a community, doing my share of any work required. Lots more could be said, but this is enough for now!
